Description
1875 Authentic Historic Poster / Sheet - Actual Reward / Wanted Poster. I am adding to my listing due to several questions about the authenticity of it: This poster came from the Murray Hall House, a historic home in Toomsboro, GA. The house was built in 1848. You can find pictures and historic information about the house online. The original family has died and the house was gifted to a church by the last surviving family descendant (sole owner of the home) prior to her death. She also gave all of the house contents to the church - which included this poster. The Hall family were some of the wealthiest people in the United States at the time and had major ties with the Banking Business.Toomsboro is practically a ghost town today, but the church and house remains. The church allowed me, my husband, and five children to live in the Murray Hall house (to this day) and also gifted all of the abandoned contents. They told me I could clean it out and "dispose" of the contents as I wish. In fact, when we first moved into this historic home, many people helped clean it and bagged up a lot of the contents and were going to take several bags to the trash dump, but I stopped them. I've been in the process of sorting, cleaning and going through everything and either keeping it - or putting it up for sale as I find time. Check out some of my other items that are currently for sale and already sold. I've done much research on the Wanted Poster and I have absolutely no reason to believe this is a reproduction. If you know of a way to prove or disprove, please let me know. I've done as much research as I know to on my own. I DO know that the Hall Family was into banking, had exquisite taste, lots of money, and seemed to be hoarders to a certain extent. I CAN NOT say exactly how the family acquired the poster. They took those details to the grave with them.
