    Description

"As England made the slow transition from Queen Victoria in the late 1800’s to King Edward VII in 1901, the style of jewelry craftsmanship changed along with it. Major advances in technology paired with a new fashion trends for women caused a shift towards a light, elegant jewelry period known as the Edwardian Era. This period in jewelry design lasted from 1901 to roughly 1920. The Edwardian era was a time period of sophistication and elegance driven by the extreme wealth of the upper class".

Granulation... a process that causes very small gold/metal beads to adhere to the surface metal, through heat, with no apparent solder.
Granulation can be applied in designs or lines to form textures or designs. This has been a popular way to decorate and texture jewelry items
since ancient times. The technique has been known since the Etruscan era and was revived in the 19th century.
Beautiful Antique Edwardian  Glass Filigree Necklace... features lovely, scalloped, delicate filigree links from which an even lovelier pendant drops from. Tiny faceted emerald green baguettes and paste stones decorate the center of this pendant. The filigree metal shows exquisite workmanship, m
    ost of
which includes delicate granulation on the fine, thread like, metal. Unmarked metal resembles white gold or sterling silver but it did not test for either of these fine metals. However, the piece is Rhodium plated. The tension clasp shows lovely repousse work with tiny flowers and designs along with amazing granulation there too.
The patent number stamped on the back dates it to 1918.
Necklace measures 15~1/8" long, pendant measure 1~1/2" long making the center a total drop length of  2".  In excellent antique condition  with the only thing I will note is that the paste stones have darkened a bit.
