Description

The first line of dinnerware shapes done by designer Ben Siebel in 1956 for Iroquois China Co. was called IMPROMPTU and its most popular pattern was BRIDAL WHITE's classic creamy White glaze on uplifting and exuberant pieces... Offered here is an orphaned Sugar Bowl, looking for an appropriate chapeau (lid) to complete it. The bowl's outer diameter is 6"; its inner rim is 4 ½"; it stands 2 ½" H. It has been used very lightly and, other than a small divot in the inner rim of the bowl (shown in closeup, photo 3) which is a 1/16" manufacturing blip that is glazed completely over, appears on casual inspection to be pristine. Overall, one would think the bowl has been hiding in some South Dakota basement for the past 60 years (40 years of which is true)! In minty condition and fresh off the prairie.
