    Description

    Irving Charles Chapman
    FBI Most Wanted
These appear to be slightly cut down for some reason (7 1/2 X 7 5/8 inches).  The last photo shows how and why this piece has two holes in the top of the document.  Many offices used this method to store and make available quick reference items in business and government.  Originally known as the Department Of Investigation and formally becoming the "Federal Bureau of Investigation" in 1936; this wanted poster was printed subsequent to the name change mentioned.  The poster was also stamped "CANCELLED" showing death or capture.
    From the web:
Depression era outlaw Irving Charles Chapman dated September 1937.  Irving Charles "Charlie" Chapmen will go down in history as one of the most prolific bank robbers of the 20th century.  Born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on October 10, 1910.  The internet states that only 500 copies of this poster were produced; few remain.  One is displayed in the Minnesota Historical Society.
This poster shows to be in used condition with stains and stapler rust.
Will be carefully packed for shipment and I am happy to combine shipping and refund any amount over actual shipping cost.
