HISTORY OF SEAT TAG MARKINGS
Seat Tag Info - Stingray Saddles (not solo polos) first came out on the NEW mid-64 Super Deluxes. These were a new design seat from Schwinn in a white deep tuft style and had a MADE IN U.S.A. off to the right under Sting-Ray. This tag was found on all 64 saddles and into mid 65 including the early white smoothie seats.
Mid-65 the PAT. PENDING tag surfaced and late 65 the PAT. NO. D-204121 started coming on all the seats thur 1971.
72-73 krate seats then went back to just MADE IN U.S.A. "centered" at bottom.
I bought my 51,000 seat tags FROM SCHWINN right during the bankruptcy.
